Wieden

A few quiet days away from everything.
Between pine trees, cowbells and mountain light that changes by the minute.

From our wondefull airbnb near the small mountain village of Wieden, we set out in a different direction each day — one trail climbing steeply toward the slopes of the Belchen, another winding through dense fir forests where sunbeams cut through like flashlights.

The paths roll over soft meadows and past old farmhouses with deep roofs. Sometimes a bench appears just where the view demands silence; sometimes a descent burns the legs a little. The kids walked, climbed, found sticks, and hid from the wind — until the sun broke through again and turned everything gold.

In the afternoons, the light grew heavier, clouds gathered, and the forest shifted in tone. That’s what makes autumn in the Black Forest so beautiful — not perfection, but constant change: bright and dark, warm and cold, all in one frame.

Each day ended with soup, steaming boots, and the quiet satisfaction of having really been outside.
Wieden doesn’t try to impress you — it just does.
